Dear 1988,
I miss you! Although last time we met, I was only 5 years-old, I remember you offering fun, exciting times such as my first recess with fairy cookies, play-doh with Mrs Miley and the commemorative bi-centennial coin!
You came to visit this morning on my way to work in the form of Cheap Trick...the soothing sounds of 'The Flame' helped me to quash my road rage as trying to find a parking spot, so I ended up walking into work calm and cheery!
You were a time of such fun and joy, and great memories. You didn't offer mobile phones, or laptop computers, so the pace seemed slower...although mum's shoulder pads were pretty insane!
While we don't miss your fashion, (including the permission to wear trakkie pants under the tartan uniform dress at school) I miss your generous servings of 100's & 1000's on my fairy cookies, your fine musicality and the simpler time you were all about.
